Stark County Treasurer
The Stark County Treasurer strives to conduct the duties of the office with professionalism, accountability and integrity. The County Treasurer promotes an atmosphere of cooperation with all County departments, the County Board and private businesses. The County Treasurer and her staff are dedicated to serving the public in a friendly and efficient manner. Through the use of traditional standards and new technology, it is the goal of the Treasurer to conduct the duties of the office in the best interests of the taxpayers by providing exceptional public service while maintaining a conservative budget.

Duties of the Treasurer
The County Treasurer has the duty and power to receive and safely keep the revenue and public monies of the County. The County Treasurer must keep an account of all monies received and disbursed.  All payments must either be authorized by the County Board or specifically authorized by law. The Stark County Treasurer also serves as Collector and is responsible for billing, collecting, investing and disbursing property taxes. The County Treasurer sends out approximately 6,000 property tax bills each year and collects nearly $10,000,000. Those funds are distributed to 49 taxing districts. The bills are usually mailed in early May and are typically due in June and September each year. The annual tax sale occurs in late October or early November.
